You may be thinking and asking, why are you saying this?!
Well, the weather this week has given us a dramatic, not very welcomed, but, a very interesting experience.
We have had lots of rain. Way more than we have had at this time of year, and with this rain came floods and mud slides. It has been quite devastating for a lot of people in our area and beyond. All our major highways have been shut down with an abrupt stop of movement on all the highways and many have been stranded.
I don't fully know how anyone else feels, but I am feeling somewhat in a shock and it is hard to comprehend all that is happening, and it is happening here.
Now for those of you who are wondering how my family and I are doing, we are well and safe. I am very grateful that we live in a area that is high enough where we have not been affected by the floods. Some of us, because of the flooded highways, have not been able to get to each other but we have been able to connect none the less. This is most definitely another one of my gratefuls, technology.
Technology is a fabulous thing at times and my heart is so full of gratitude to have it available, especially during a moment such as this. To know that my family and friends are safe is an incredible relief. I am able to see and speak with them, as well as being able to stay in contact. How incredible is that?!
Something else, not only are we able to connect with others, we are also able to share our parts of the world and lives through pictures and videos. Speaking of which, I am also very grateful to those who are able to be out there documenting this event.
There is so much to be grateful for in such a short time frame, then I think about the last two years... Oh my goodness! The more I think about what we are experiencing now and what we have all experienced and have been able to come through over the last two years. We are still here together! I am so very grateful...
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!
