Our
Weekly Whimsy
By Angela Schmidt
Hello !
Last week was Thanksgiving and brought our focus to being grateful.
This past week showed me how very important being in a state of gratitude is. It also showed me by doing so, I am living and appreciating the very present moment I am living in. It also helps me to fully see and cherish the gifts I have been given throughout my life, and not take anything for granted.
Some of these gifts are very special and very loved people who have profoundly affected my life, even when I didn't realize it at the time. This brings me to this email being sent out later than usual.
This weekend, a very dearly loved aunt passed on. I will be forever grateful to have had the blessing of her life in mine. Reflecting on the times we
had been able to be together whether in person, on the phone, online, or texting, it was always like a homecoming. What a gift to have! We had so much laughter as well as tears through our life experiences together. We shared so much joy as well as challenging moments with her. I am already and am going to miss her dreadfully.
At the moment, I am still in this space of being sad, probably the better word would be grieving. Regardless, I am very very sad. At the same time, I find myself floating through a lot of memory lane moments. I find myself thinking about her voice, her smile, her laughter, her hugs, her soft nature, her internal strength, how generous she always
was with her love, as well as the beauty she surrounded herself and others with.
It may not seem like staying in the moment but for me it is. I am in the moment of leaning into how I am feeling right now and allowing myself the grace to be in
it.
Thank you, my dear Father, I am so very grateful for every moment she was with all of us. She is a beautiful gift, one I will be eternally grateful for and will forever cherish. I love her dearly. Thank
you.
I pray those moments when you have them that you will also give yourself the grace to lean into them no matter what they are to fully feel and appreciate them. Just be in the moment and when you can, may you find a place of gratitude within them as well.
May you feel a blessing in everything and everyone around you with love, gratitude, joy, and whimsy!
