Â
Hello !
Â
Wowzers!
Â
Almost halfway through April, already?!!!
Â
Signs of spring are popping up all over the place! Quite a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables are becoming more available.  With this variety to
your diet comes many health benefits as was mentioned in previous Whimsies.
Â
One that comes to mind almost right away is improving your nutrient intake.
Vegetables are full of essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber which are vital for your overall health.  This ensures that your dear body is getting more of what it needs to function at its best.
Better digestion with the increase of fiber, which is very high in vegetables. Â Eating your
vegetables can help keep your digestive system running smoothly and prevent constipation.
Â
Can help with weight management. Â Being low in calories and high in fiber, eating more
vegetables can help you feel full and satisfied without consuming too many calories.
Â
Incorporating more and increasing the variety in your diet can help prevent boredom with your food
choices. This can make healthy eating more enjoyable and sustainable in the long run.
You may find incorporating more vegetables can be a challenge. Â Please know, you don't have to do a complete overhaul of your
eating habits. Â Find simple ways to add a serving or two of vegetables to your meals.
Â
Here are a couple of tips to start with:
In your morning scramble add a handful of spinach, some sliced peppers, onions, tomatoes, or mushrooms.
Add a small side salad or steamed broccoli for lunch and dinner, and gradually increase from there.
Don't make it hard on yourself. Â Enjoy the process. Â Have fun!
Â
There are so many more benefits to adding vegetables into your diet that you will find interesting.
Look out for those in future Whimsies, which will also include more tips and even recipes to whet your appetite, and add to your growing menu ideas to boost your overall health and well-being.
Â
As always, please share how you are doing and if you have any questions, please ask.
Â
Speaking of questions, I do have some for you!
How often do you currently include vegetables in your meals?
How can you add more veggies to your breakfast
routine?
What are some of your favorite vegetables and how can you incorporate them into your meals more often?
Are there any vegetables that you currently don't like, but are open to trying again in a new recipe or preparation method?
