I am very excited! The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer and the flowers are
starting to bloom. Spring has arrived!
Whoo hoo!
Anytime is a perfect time to take care of ourselves. However, with the arrival of a new season, I can't help but join the Spring renewal with enthusiasm.
I invite you to join me!!
Here are eight healthy tips to incorporate into your routine and
to help you kickstart your health as you get into this season:
1.
Move your body! Use the stairs rather than elevators. Park your car where you can get more walking in. Run, walk, hike, swim, stretch, ride a bike, garden, and maybe even try out a new exercise routine. Find ways to be more active.
2.
Take in all the fresh air you can by going outside while keeping more active and enjoying the sunshine. You can even just sit and relax in the sunshine. Soak up all that wonderful natural vitamin D, which is very important for strong bones and a healthy immune system.
3.
Eat more fruit and vegetables. Spring is the perfect time to
start adding more of these to your diet. Take advantage of the local seasonal produce that is becoming available.
4.
Don't forget to stay hydrated and drink your water. As the weather gets warmer and you become more active, your dear body needs plenty of water to function properly.
For a delicious twist, add some fresh fruit or herbs to your water. Maybe add an app to your phone that will give
you an extra reminder.
5.
Reach out and connect with
family, and friends as well as build new relationships. This is very important for your mental health as well as for others. Maybe even plan for some fun outdoor activities to do together.
6.
Clear out clutter from your home. A clean and organized space can help to reduce stress, by promoting calmness as well as relaxation. Can you just imagine your sigh of relief as you look around your lovely space? It may also help to improve your indoor air quality.
How about giving your car some spring cleaning attention too?
7.
Get plenty of sleep for your overall health and well-being. With the days getting longer it can be very easy to stay up late but it is extremely important to maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
Also, do take a break from technology
by unplugging from your devices. Limit your screen time. This can help reduce stress and improve sleep quality as well.
8.
Practice gratitude and mindfulness. Intentionally take time throughout each day to focus on and appreciate all the good things in your life.
May these tips inspire you to thoughtfully consider what you can do as you step into spring with enthusiasm. I am sure there are many more you can think of to add to this list.
