This week I "was" going to talk about the common signs and symptoms of stress.
With the beautiful hot summer weather we have been having lately, I have been compelled this time to remind you about making sure to drink enough water each day. Not enough water on days such as these is placing huge stress on your body and all its parts.
Please drink your water. If you are feeling thirsty, this tells you that your body is already starting to feel the stress of dehydration. This is not good for your brain and your organs. This also includes the largest organ of your body, your skin!
When you go out, remember to take your water bottle or two with you. Depending on how active you are, will also be a consideration as
to how much water to be drinking. The more active you are, the more water your body is going to need.
If you have a hat,
it would be a good idea to wear it, especially if you know that you will be in the direct hot sun during the day.
If you are finding it difficult or boring to drink
enough water, there are delicious ways to make it easier to get the water your body needs. Experiment with infusing your water with fresh fruit such as oranges and lemons, even berries. Try vegetables such as cucumber slices. Experiment with different herbal teas for some new and unique iced tea flavors. Don’t forget to enjoy and snack on your fruits and vegetables that have high water content. These are very helpful as well in keeping your body hydrated.
The goal is to keep your body well-hydrated throughout the day!
