It is a beautiful time to be together. It is also a time for many events. There are Christmas plays, church and community events, and social events with family and friends. There can be "lots" of social events that become available and indulge in.
One major indulgence that does come to my mind is the feasting! Oh my goodness! It can be a time when overeating is very easy.
This is a time for joy though and not that after
eating remorse. To help you from doing this, here are some tips to remember:
Put your devices away, and be present with those around you.
Drink plenty of water before you eat.
Eat slowly. Be mindful and appreciate each tasty morsel.
Help clean up afterward.
Get some fresh air, grab a buddy and go for an after-dinner walk.
Yes, be aware of what you are eating but please don't feel guilty if you do feel like you overdid it. Your main focus when getting together is to enjoy and love who you are with. Doing so helps immensely in keeping the focus off the food.
In our family, this love is the main reason for Christmas as we believe, "Jesus is the reason for the season." It would be great to extend this season throughout the year letting "God love others through you."
May your week be filled with love, joy, gratitude and whimsy!
