Join the Whimsy movement!
This month’s topic is physical activity, It is not just about staying fit. It is also about finding ways to move that will bring you joy, with grace and enthusiasm to be alive.
With each up and coming Whimsy, we will look at different areas to bring in more movement through physical activities. For now, let’s look at the benefits your beautiful body and mind will receive by moving on a regular basis.
Here are five wonderful benefits for
joyful movement/physical activity:
1. Improves Physical Health
Moving regularly helps:
Support a healthy weight
Improves your cardiovascular health
Strengthens your muscles and bones
Enhances flexibility and balance.
2. Enhances Mental Well-being
Movement/physical activity:
Releases those “feel-good” hormones called endorphins. These are known for reducing stress, anxiety and depression.
Promotes better sleep and cognitive function.
3. Encourages Social Connection
Being involved in group activities or classes:
Promotes a sense of community and belonging. This is essential for emotional well-being.
4. Increases Energy Levels
Moving on a regular basis increases your energy levels.
Makes you feel more energetic and able to enjoy daily activities more.
5. Gives a Sense of Achievement
Creating and achieving small movement goals.
Can increase your confidence and give you a sense of
accomplishment.
