Hello !
Hope is a seed in the darkness!
During the season of Advent, you may hear this phrase, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great
light.”
These words from Isaiah remind us of the hope that breaks into even the darkest nights—the promise of light that cannot be overcome.
Christmas shines as a beacon of hope, especially when moments of life feel heavy or uncertain, just as the star over Bethlehem lit the way for the Magi. This hope can guide you through life’s challenges, offering comfort and strength.
Darkness can be a difficult place to be, but
it is also where growth begins. Seeds sprout beneath the soil. Stars shine brightest against the night sky. The miracle of Christ’s birth in the quiet of a humble stable.
These teach us that hope:
1. Doesn’t require perfect circumstances. It grows even in difficulty.
2. It is not passive. It is a quiet, steady light that calls us forward.
During this time, consider, reflect and journal using these questions as prompts:
1. Where do you see the light of hope in your own life?
2.
What moments of hope have carried you through difficult times?
3. Who or what has been a source of light for you this year?
4. How can you be a light for someone else this season?
I would love to hear your thoughts as you consider those questions.
Here is this week’s activity to consider, “Light a candle of Hope.”
Each evening until Christmas, light a candle.
As the flame flickers, reflect on its warmth and light. Let it be a symbol of hope. A hope that shines even in the darkest moments.
While the candle burns think of someone in your life who could use a little hope this season.
Pray for them.
Send a message.
Do a small act of kindness.
Brighten their day. Your light can make a difference.
Advent and Christmas remind us that light and hope are always present, even when we cannot yet see the dawn. Be that candle, shine and share the light!!
This Christmas season, Let your heart be filled with the peace of knowing that hope is a gift meant to be shared.
Merry Christmas!
May your Christmas be filled with hope, love, joy, and whimsy!
