Hello, !
You are creative!!!
If you have ever thought, “I am just not creative.” You are not alone in thinking that. So many have grown up believing creativity is reserved for artists or musicians.
Creativity is a part of who you are. How can you not be? God created you in His image! Creativity is not just about painting, writing, or performing. It is also about thinking, problem-solving, and finding new ways to approach whatever life brings your way.
There are so many areas in your life where creativity shows up. You will find it in the most unexpected places. You have a unique creative spark waiting to be nurtured. Let’s begin with rethinking what creativity truly is.
At the basics, creativity is the ability to bring something new into existence. It is about seeing the possibilities, making connections, and being open to different ideas or approaches. Yes, the arts are a beautiful expression of creativity. However, it is not the only area. You will find creativity shows up in all areas of your life. You will find it in how you solve
problems by connecting with others. It is how you cook a meal and even organize your space.
Creativity is broad, flexible and ever-present. It is not something only a few people have. It is something that lives inside all of us, and now it is about to take center stage in your
life!
Here are three things to remember about creativity:
!. It is not just
artistic.
Creativity is how you approach life by solving a tricky problem at home, work or wherever this need arises.
2. It is not something you “either have or don’t
have.
Everyone is creative. It will show up in many different ways.
3. “IT IS” about finding joy in the process.
Creativity is about experimenting, playing, and discovering new paths.
In future Whimsies, we will explore creativity from different angles with fun activities. Be ready to rediscover your creative spark of joy and
brilliance!
In the meantime, think about one area of your life where you’ve been creative without realizing it. Maybe you found an interesting way to solve a problem. How about when you cooked a meal inspired by what you had on hand without going to the store to buy that one or two ingredients you
didn’t have in the recipe?
Once you start thinking about this, you may surprise yourself with creative brilliance you did not know you had in many areas.
